Quick, Last Minute Autox Newbie questions
Going to Packwood tomorrow for first Autox.
A couple questions on technique. When running, do you leave TC alone, do the sport mode, turn it off, or pedal dance? I'm assuming TC off, but usually you can tell I'm wrong when I open my mouth. Slow tight corners, jam on the brake, light throttle through, and power off? Or? Bike racing is easy, follow the road, don't crash, etc. I'm unclear on a generally accepted fast way through an Autox course. Any pointers for a first timer? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk |

1. Do the course walk 3 or 4 times.
2. Don't worry about being fast 3. Your only goals for the day are a) don't get lost and b) get faster with every run. |

Hey I just did my first autox last weekend, now I'm addicted. The track walk is super important , visualize how you want to set the car up for the next turn. Do the 5 sec hold to turn traction off otherwise the car will fall on its face off the line. Don't stress about technique , go out have some fun and make a few mistakes. It will come to you . I had a blast and everyone was really cool, remember that they are all enthusiasts too.

As a first timer, you should just focus on looking ahead and getting a feel for the cones. Look as far ahead as you can. When you enter a corner you should be looking at the exit. When you enter a slalom you should be looking to the last cone. If you aren't looking 2+ gates ahead you are behind.
Keep your eyes up and practice seeing the course, the speed and technique will come later. |

When I run my pss (245s on 17x9) it felt best around 29front/27rear.
As others have said, dont worry about details with the car. Concentrate on knowing the layout and driving smooth. Dont pay attention to anyones times but your own.

If youre on stock suspension/camber, probably add 2 psi all around to that so you don't murder your sidewalls.

I'm on RCE Yellows, cambered according to RCE recommendations front & rear. I might still keep pressures up a bit. I think I DD AT 35 (or 40). Anyway, the biggest thing slowing me down will be my fat ass, so oh well. Lol
