Pollen
I have just given up on washing my car every weekend, just so pollen can land its way onto the car again.
Anybody else letting pollen get in the way. I truly hate the way my car looks with pollen since I have a Dark Grey one and I just wish I had garage. Anybody else have this problem? Let me know how you cope with it.

I have a black brz and I know how you feel. Detailer spray is your friend. It probably takes me 10-15 minute to get rid of light dust accumulation. Black edge detailer is the one I recommend.

A dam good wax is what you need.
In between washes I use a water less wash/wax spray with a micro fiber cloth. Then other times I just don't give a dam and let get dirty. I just clean the windshield and drive.

I extend my wash and wax a few days with a California Duster brush. Actually, the one I have now is just a knock-off of the original California Duster. But you have to do this every day before the car gets wet with evening/night dew. Water makes dust and pollen stick to the paint so that the Duster does not pick it up. Then you have wait until your next wash.

I'd feel really uncomfortable detailing it without washing it prior to

I put 3 layers of wax last time. It does rinse right off.

I guess I can't complain in that aspect because it does just rinse right off, whenever it decides to rain

I use TURTLE Wax Ice liquid wax T-468R and find that for the first 5 months or so, when wet spots are dry the dirt "sits up" on the paint and can be lightly dusted off. It is as though the dirt is repelled from the paint. Do not RUB at all as there is grit in the dirt.
Once the paint is dirty with oily water from the road, dusting is not enough and you have to wash but it comes off much more easily with that particular Turtle stuff.

I know the feeling about pollen. Especially since my car is black. As long as I have a good wax job, I don't mind it sitting for a few weeks at a time before I wash it off. Though I recently got AMMO SkinDefense so I want to put that on soon. Pollen is getting pretty bad here in Texas.

I use this to get rid of it, and it's real effective. Takes about 3-5 min to clear all the spots:
