It would appear that Diamond Brite is not in North America so don't know how any here can comment on how good they are. Probably as good as any other protection from what I read.
Why are you getting rustproofing at all? Does it actually get wet and/or salty enough there to warrant it? Do cars even rust there?

Well according to a dealer rep there are high levels of moisture and humidity in the gulf area and he recommended rust proofing. As they do.
Im just worried about the smells associated with it after the application, must be pretty toxic. What do you think of paintprotection in general, good idea? |

The rust proofing I am not convinced on. Even here where we drive through salty slush for four or five months a year I dispute it's value on modern cars. Yes, there was a day when the materials in cars would rust in a couple of years but any quality car made in the last decade or so just isn't as prone to this issue. Body panels are made of much more rust resistant materials then they used to be and simply cleaning them periodically will keep them in good shape. Not saying that cars won't still rust eventually but the odds are that they will wear out before they rust out. The days of the rotted through, no floored, flapping trimmed, 5 year old car are well in the past.

I agree with you on rust proofing, new cars are made to a higher standard and alot less likely to rust out if you take care of it. The way they apply rust proofing is shotty at best. They just aimlessly spray it into holes where water should drain out (from condensation ect) and hope it coats all the panel they dont actually take them off and do it right. They spend all of 15 minutes "rust proofing" a car so I find it hard to belive that that 15 minutes makes a car rust proof lol. |

Yeah Im gonna pass on rust proofing but will most probably do the paint protect. Youre right, if they mess it up they'll block the drainage holes, I dont trust them

haha I wax mine every 2 weeks cuz I have no life in the summer. The bare minimum anyone should do is twice a year if you ask me. You should polish your car one day then wax it the next over a weekend to get rid of all your swirls

Paint sealers are different from wax but at the end of the day they both work good.
