Strange dots from something on the paint

So I just washed my car. Well, did the prelim rinse and sud, and there are these little black dots on the door which look they sprayed up from something on the ground. The are hard, but I can scrape them off one at a time with my fingernail and there is no damage or discoloration to the paint below them. Does anyone know what they are and if there is a paint safe solvent to remove them? It would take me a year to do it one at a time, I think.

Cheers!

Recent cold patch on the road someplace. Any of the above will take it off with relative ease. Had it happen back in the spring and it looked exactly the same. Just be glad it wasn't hot patch!

Just got back in. Used goo b gone (or whatever it is called). Helped a little, but mostly had to use fingernails and high powered wiping with a microfiber towel. Thanks guys!
