Tomei UEL+Type 80?
I want to add the tomei type-80 cat back on my car but I'm worried about all the drone. I drive a lot of highway miles and my old Mustang with long tubes and no cats droned like no other. I like the type-80 since its so light and sounds amazing. Would the type 80 and UEL be overkill for a dd? I can live with loud, just not drone. Thanks!

I would say mostly highway miles it will be pretty loud. If you arent forced induction the 60S will probably be better for a dd with all highway miles.

I'm pretty sure your ears are going to fall off if you put a lot of highways miles on your FRS with that setup.

I love the sound! I also like how its more function over form. And the lightweight construction makes it so much more appealing. I'm just worried that I'll be bleeding through my ears with the drone. Loudness is one thing, drone is another.

Only catback I'd run with catless headers would be the Invidia Q300 or Fujitsubo Authorize R.
Anything else is gonna be obnoxiously loud. |

I have an N1 and it's ridiculously loud on cold starts and above 4k. Every time I drive over an hour on the freeway there is a slight ringing noise in my ears when I get out of my car, I can't imagine how loud it would be using the type 80. Switching the N1 back to stock and looking for a Q300 or something comparable in the near future.

Hmmm. Maybe the Q300, Tomei uel and stock midpipe would be the perfect combo?

If youre planning to upgrade the rest of the exhaust, don't get single exit or n1. Get an actual catback with real mufflers haha

Haha yeah I feel like an actual muffler with resonators and a header with no cats is the way to go. I just don't wanna get that rasp that these NA boxers have
