best data logging options

not looking to do any tuning just yet.

just straight data logging. main things im interested in are air fuel, timing, knock, and oil temp.

what are my options?

obd2 scanner and that torque app?

would toyota techstream and a laptop let me do data logging?

or is my best bet just to get an OFT tablet or ecutek or something?

Some stuff related to your question. In short, I think and obd2 reader with an android or iOS app would work well. Not sure if it'll give you accurate AFR or knock readings though.

As above.

you cannot monitor knock with torque or obd scanner

OBD scanner apps are ok for slow moving parameters like oil coolant temps, reading CEL codes resetting cel codes ect But not much good for fast moving stuff like AFR or knock (if you could monitor it) as the refresh rate is too slow.

For "tunning" logging you need something that will log at at least 5 times a second 10 is better.

If you going to get a tuning device such as tactrix/OFT/Ecutek then you rearly need one for effective logging for tuning.

You could use Techstream and a J2534 adapter.
