wheel wobbling, HELP!

So a couple of days ago avoided a car hitting me and I slid against the guard rail. I few (not big) dents and scratches. Since then the wheel wobbles at all speeds. There isn't any wheel damage. I inspected the car myself and I don't see anything broken or torn. I thought about the alignment but wouldn't it cause it at high speeds? And I had a friend say its probably a wheel bearing.

I inspected my tire and there are chipped threading on it also.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry about the fender bender. You need to go get your car professionally inspected. It could be as little as an alignment...

You probably bent the wheel.
swap it with another and see if the wobble moves

Get it fixed. Wheel may look OK and be bent. Could be other damage. Impossible to tell without a thorough inspection and checking geometry.

When my wife curbed her car at <10mph on black ice, the k-member and wheel were both damaged. It doesn't take much, but it dangerous to drive.

Did the front hit or the rear? If the rear, more than likely bent the axle. Hit the front, probably bent the hub. Would still take the rim that hit and have it spun on a balancer to be sure it's not bent.

The dealership is asking for to much to get the car only inspected. But imma gonna have to do it. I do feel like the I lost a weight on the wheel and it needs to get balanced again.

It was the side, I slide against a guard rail. Only got body damage (which doesn't look to bad) and got that eheel wobble. The rear rim wasnt touched so it isnt an axle . Its comming from the passenger front wheel. I put the spare on the front and there was less wobble (smaller rim tho, which is why). The front rim was slightly touch tho.

It's likely all bent some; axle carrier, axle, hub, peened the bearings... No shortcuts. Take it seriously.

Even if you don't notice it right away, putting new stuff over other damaged parts is a recipe for premature failure.

There is a lot of geometry in the front of the car that all had to be pretty close to perfect. Could be a lot of things. Don't guess, take it to someone who can inspect it.

I had a similar problem on a Del Sol(front wheel drive) and it was the knuckle/hub that was bent. I would start with a balance on the tire first instead of throwing expensive parts at it. Then if it still vibrates, look deeper

If it's a consistent wobble/vibration, it's probably not the alignment, a wheel bearing, bent knuckle/hub/axle, etc. It's most likely a bent wheel or a missing weight.

A bearing would grind and feel loose, but wouldn't be a consistent wobble.

A bent knuckle/hub/axle stub up front would put the alignment out, but again wouldn't wobble.

Alignment would pull/scrub, but again wouldn't wobble.

It's very possible to bend a wheel and not be able to see it by just looking. The only way to tell for sure is to rotate it and measure for any runout. If you take it to get balanced they'll be able to tell you right away if the wheel is bent or not.

As for cost, insurance would cover this. It's definitely something you want to get fixed properly just in case it's something much worse than just a missing wheel weight.

Getting it balanced will be a cheap first step. My friend had a bad wheel bearing and his wheel wobbled bad. A mechanic will be able to tell you for sure
