WRB clearcoat / paint soft??

Washed my car today....

Had tree sap on the car for I guess just a few days too long, ate the clear coat a bit, now there's circular spots.

Anything I could do, without a full detail? I've tried using some soft wax to cover it up just a bit, it's better.

I'm sad.. but on the bright side, since it's already blemished might as well just not worry at the track, and just enjoy the car LOL.

That said, I noticed as the PDI wax and stuff is coming off, there's alot of scratches and paint blemishes. LOTS of touch up.

My fault for not inspecting the car closer when I picked it up.. but oh well. Really should have waited 1 extra day for the other Series Blue on the lot, still in it's shipping wrap.

Any other paint stories from ya'll?

Get it buffed or whatever man. Show you love your car
BTW Junkman2000's youtube channel has a nice series on paint care. particularly about getting bird crap and bugs off your car.

i doubt the clear coat was lost, take a picture. Go buy tree sap cleaner and see if you can polish it off, i think it is more like the tree sap bonded to the clear coat.

While everyone else above me is very correct.

Welcome to subaru paint. It's thin and shitty. and always has been. If you want good paint buy a VW or Audi or pay for paint.

And yes I've owned 5 Subaru's, the paint sucks ass on all of them.

For an easy fix, I recommend Zaino Z-PC - http://www.zainostore.com/mm5/mercha..._Code=washprep

Use this with a Dual Action buffer and the appropriate pads and speeds. Its a slightly abrasive compound that truly does wonders!

Afterward, I would go ahead and coat it with some Menzerna Power Lock.

I realize both of these things need to be ordered and wont create that drive down the street satisfaction, but they have done me well for MANY years and I am an absolute paint Nazi.
