My DD died today any suggestions?

Hey all so just had my DD, well its not dead it's just gonna take much more to repair it than i am willing to pay. And since the FR-S's arent really available yet i wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations. Still looking in the same price range maybe cheaper, i'm definitely open to Used vehicles.

During my brief freak out I have managed to find a couple of S2000's for sale, one 370z lots of high mileage 350z's. I dunno i'm open to suggestions, just looking for something fun, much like i was yesterday when i was still open to getting an FR-S. So dissapointed right now, but trying to make the best of it.

Rent a car while you wait? I mean I hate to settle so I say find ways to wait it out. Won't be too long now.

Some Toyota dealerships offer long term rental cars.

http://www.toyota.com/rental/

If you find a good dealership to buy your FR-S from and they also offer rental Toyotas, you might be able to arrange for some sort of deal?

This happened to me, but I was fortunate enough to be able to borrow a car to cover the gap.

Had I not been able to do that, I would have purchased whatever car I could have paid cash for, with an eye towards getting a great deal on it from a private sale, then either reselling it or using it as a trade-in toward the FR-S to reduce the tax burden.

I'm talking a real beater here, no more than a couple of thousand dollars or so. Since it was only for a few months, there's not much of a chance I would have lost much money on it since most cars that are in that price range have a stablized value over a year or so.

This is what I did. went from a TL Type S to a Miata beater. Under $3k for the car...but I've already got ~$1600 in it on top of what I paid for the car.

But, it's 'worth' far more than I've paid thus far, so if I want/need to, I can always sell the miata for a small profit. I don't need to, so it'll remain a daily/beater after I get the BRZ.

Thanks guys I'm renting for now, and dropped a line to a dealer that seems to have one not spoken for so with a lot of luck I might be able to still get one. Otherwise I will probably be looking at cars this weekend. Trying hard to stick to the plan!

After my RSX was totaled, I bought a cheap beater car for $450. It was a beat-to-hell Toyota Avalon. Engine ran fine, however, and most gears worked. It even had working A/C. I drove that for 6+ months while saving my money and before I bought the SC300.

Found a place with some cars that aren't spoken for coming in this week. Since I have my rental for the rest of this week that should be perfect.
