Question BRZ Limited NAV/Audio: Any way to keep the radio on when you turn the car off?

I have the BRZ Limited with the push-button start and nav system. When I stop the car, I'm often listening to talk radio or a song I want to finish without burning gas.

Normally with a key, you can just turn it down a notch to cut the engine, with the push button it just goes completely off. Is there any way to keep the radio running without re-wiring it to a different power source (which could be a really stupid idea considering potential power draw)?

I was hoping there might be a way to have the push button step down to ACC instead of just shutting off.

If yours is a standard then press the start button twice in a row without pressing in the clutch and that should put it into acc mode.

I meant going from engine running directly to ACC. The second I touch the button it cuts the radio, which takes time to reboot when I go to ACC. I know it's a minor annoyance, but I'm used to just turning off the engine and not the radio.

I responded in a different thread, but now I see what you are talking about in going backwards with it, instead of tuning it off and back to ACC again. I would be interested in this too, I might go play around with mine tonight to see if I can get it to work.

Thanks,
Rick

I saw someone explain once about being able to do it by turning the car off while it's still rolling or something. I had it happen once by accident, but haven't been able to repeat it.

I wish it would stay on until you open the door, just like the window switches stay active.

You could always stall it.

Not sure about manual but with auto you can turn the engine off with the transmission in "D" before shifting to "P" and it will go to accessories rather than off.

I can confirm, manual says hitting the push button start while the engine is on and the shifter is in any position other than "P" the car will switch to accessory on mode and turn the engine off.

I tried this today, and I can confirm it works while in Neutral, I have an automatic tranny. Didn't see a reason to try anything else.

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead. But still looking for an answer to this for a MT.

I guess you could just stall the engine....

For manual transmission.
simply just put it in a gear when the car is stationary, release the clutch without giving any gas. Car will store, but audio still on
