If this car is your daily driver, how is it doing this WINTER? With the potholes.....
and, well, snow itself! For snow driving did you replace the wheels with a winter set? How'd that go?
Also, what about the potholes, has that been a problem for anyone? I think maybe 16 inch wheels with some fat balloony sidewalls would've helped this winter. Please chime in with your thoughts. |

I bought mine the week before Christmas and was fine, we hadn't had any snow at that point. Ended up getting to snow covered to drive most of the time it snowed. A few weeks back was the first time I had it out to drive in the snow and that was with stock tires. It was fine on flat surfaces but once I hit a hill in my development...no bueno... this is my first car with traction control and quickly learned that you can not get unstuck in the snow with it on lol fortunately with TC off it actually was pretty easy to swing my back end from side to side as I climbed the hill.

Driving in pot hole hell, it's fine.
It's a funny thing. People go cheap on winter wheels, then ask later why the wheel they bought after two winter seasons is all bent up. Funny thing.

I'm on the stock rims with corded Michelin Primacies and I got around fine in the winter. I only got stuck once because I was being dumb and I stopped.
Occasionally it was terrifying because I had no control over the front end, but most of the time it was fine. Also Urbana has some of the worst potholes in the world, but I haven't bent a rim yet. (Knock on wood) Edit: And there was that one time I drove 140 miles from Chicago to Urbana in a massive snowstorm and I almost completely lost control on numerous occasions on the highway. The trip took 4.5 hours. That was a VERY sweaty trip. I tried to block that out of my memory though.

If you guys want to see real potholes, come up here.
It has been the worst winter in a while for potholes. The good news is that I get to do a slalom course every morning. |

Just fine. I've got winter tires on my OEM wheels; I put them on at the end of November.

Everyone will give different opinions. Decent and bad. My experience was horrible. I would recommend using a dedicated winter tires on these cars. Don't overestimate the all season tires on rwd on snow.. it bit me! For next winter I'll buy winter set.

![]() I found out that if you have momentum the traction control works well up hills. I also hit a patch of ice under a bridge on another occasion where EVERYWHERE ELSE was melted except for this one bridge.... when in doubt, FLAT OUT ![]() ohh yeah also my build starts soon

I have winter performance tires which work pretty well but i am lowered ~1.5 inches
and my front lip died a few weeks back due to plowing the road entirely to much... Other than that not too many complaints. |
