Extended studs - ARP, H&R or something else?

I've had 3-4 broken/stripped studs and i'm going to pre-emptively swap out the whole front axle's studs before they come back to bite me (have already changed lugs to open end mutekis). Since I am replacing the studs i might as well go with extended ones to have the freedom to run a slip-on spacer in the future - probably no more than 5mm. I will eventually get extended studs in the rears as well for a 10mm or so spacer. If I am primarily concerned about durability is ARP the only name worth considering?

ARPs - ~$70 for fronts, $140 to replace all 20

The other options i see:

- Megan racing ~$70 for all 20
- H&R Trak+ $40 per axle (or you can purchase a 5mm spacer and get the studs together for ~$70 or so)
- Eibach does not sell studs anymore, but you can still order spacers with included studs

Megan i am wary of because they seem like a vape brand. H&R obviously has a great reputation and the studs are made in Germany but i don't know how many people on our platform have had success using them. On the studs i have already replaced i just used the ones they had on hand at the auto parts store (i needed a quick turnaround) but they don't inspire a lot of confidence and tbh the fitment is not perfect).

Is there anything else I should be considering? I am leaning towards going with the H&R + the spacer package. And probably do the same thing for the rear wheels unless someone can tell me there is a big dropoff in quality between ARP and H&R or there is something else out there.

I have 20 of these on my car. ZERO complaints. Installed myself. I have 12mm and 15mm spacers on these.

how long have you had them on your car? i have the wheels on an off minimum 4-5x throughout the year and i'm paying to have this job done so i'm most interested in not having to replace them again and again.

Messing with my suspension, I have had my wheels on and off already 25+ times. Rears have been on for a year or so, just installed the fronts a few months ago.


They are Legit hardened bolts. And with 6000+ transactions and a 99.7% feedback score, I was willing to give them a go.




I used a ball joint separator to install all of them.


IMO, they are good quality.

replaced mine with ARP slightly longer studs and they have never cross threaded as it happened a couple times on the stockers.

Which part number did you order for the ARP? And do you plan on installing yourself?

ARP 100-7716. I would normally install these myself, but i found a place locally that I trust that charges $10 a stud. For $100 its not really worth my time/aggravation to do it, and regarding stuff like wheel hubs and studs (which can kill you if they are installed wrong) I will let the pros with good equipment handle this. I definitely wouldn't want to install the rears myself since it will require removing the hub.

OK. was curious since the ARP had released new parts for the FRS/BRZ including one that is about.5" shorter then the 7716. A buddy thinks it could be installed without removing the rear hub so just trying to find someone who has them to try and see if it's possible.

5mm extended studs can be installed in the rear. much longer ones require the hub removed. I could measure the ones I have.

I had ARP on my car. With all the track days probably a couple hundred uses. Used with stock wheel + 12mm spacer on street. No issue

10x20 = $200 though

All the shop does is use a stud installer which is like $20 tool or washers. If you are supplying them the parts I doubt they would even offer any kind of warranty if there is an issue or failure.

When you wrench them on all you really have to do is make sure there is no gap on the back of the hub.
