The 86's Frontal Area

Does anyone know the frontal area of the twins? An estimate even?

One method, but not sure if this is what you're asking.

FRS Cd is .27 and BRZ is .29 both without spoilers. Use formula from here to back calculate the area A

Just estimate the frontal area as a rectangle and eyeball it with a tape measure. I guess you are trying to setup some kind of virtual dyno?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yes this is for Virtual Dyno.

I just basically used the frontal area of an integra. Should be about the same no?

I've done this on another car by getting a straight on front picture and scaling it in autocad using known dimensions.

You can't back calculate it from that knowledge alone - you would also have to know the drag force at some speed, or the drag area. The whole point of the Cd is that it's independent of the frontal area.

Use the longest focal length lens you can find.

I remember someone said they did it using the frontal area of a 370Z a while back.
