Car covers for winter?
Due to recent circumstances, Looks like I'll be parking my second love outside for the winter.
Given past experiences I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me. On other cars I've used a car cover on (outside) I noticed two potentially serious problems 1) The movement of the cover from the wind / snow caused the cover to abrasively move over the paint. 2) Animals / bugs tend to seek shelter. Am I better off not using a cover? My only real concern is hail and UV light. There's no tree sap or anything like that to worry about. What would you do? |

It's all about buying a "quality cover". Look at covercraft, one of their best money wise that does a good job is their Evolution line. They also make one specifically for our cars. Other only option is a small DIY car port style which well is only a roof.
Whatever you do don't cheap out on a cover or your paint will hate you.

There's the option of tubular framed, fabric coated structures you can screw down to the ground.
Hail can bounce without impacting the metal or glass. Or pressurized air bubbles. You can heat the air going in if you like.

Also known as a portable garage. I purchased one from a company called Covertech...most of the other portable garages I have seen at your major retail stores look flimsy and cheap. The Covertech is great quality and can handle the snow well. |

$179 for a 10x17 portable garage this weekend. Thinking about getting this temporarily.
