Finally decided to get an FRS.

I heard that series 10 was coming soon. I preordered one, and put down a refundable deposit. As for the price, it is still unknown. If it is 2k more, I would just get a whiteout FRS. Then spend the money on mods. Thoughts?

I just can't wait for the FRS any longer than June. My current car is going to RIP soon Accord 93 240,000 miles (The best beater I've driven for 8 years).

Decided not to get BRZ. I would just use that first 2k on exhaust, front and side TRD kit and fog lamps =/

For what it comes with, 2k is extremely reasonable.

My 05 tC RS1 was about $1800 more than a standard tC, and all it came with was special red paint, strut bar, red engine accents, red interior, and nice 18" wheels.

The Series 10 FR-S is getting a nice touch screen head unit, LED DRLs, HIDs, dual zone digital control HVAC, and most of the bells and whistles from the BRZ anyway. Plus, like my RS1, the exclusivity of being a special series. Mine was #1713 of 2500. When I had the misfortune of wrecking it a few months ago, insurance adjuster gave me an extra $600 worth of value just because of the special edition.

I know the scion pure pricing policy. But Will I be able to get more for my trade in? I'm afraid that I will not get much for trade in when purchasing the 10 series. I guess I will wait and see the 10 series in person and decide which car I want to get.

You will never get that much for trade in. I would highly suggest selling it private party and then taking that cash (and whatever else you can afford) for the down payment. With all the money I put down (along with good credit, good rate, and longer loan), I'm only paying ~$215/mo.

I have a 780 credit score and I got 2.9... Granted I went through Toyota/Scion themselves because going through a credit union would have taken longer and introduced extra variables and headaches (been there done that). It costs me an extra couple bucks a month, but for $215, I'm not complaining.

I got 1.74% from penfed. Is it a lot of hassle? This is my first time financing a car. I have calculated. I would pay the pretty much the same interest if Im quoted 3% 5yrs from TFS with 500 rebate. If that's the case, I would definitely go with TFS to save the time and troubles as you mentioned.

It's just another entity to deal with. More time to process and another company to make calls to if you need something done. I was in a wreck and needed things processed for a new car ASAP. When the car arrived off the docks and was delivered to San Diego, my loan processed that day and I drove home. Many banks and credit unions may take a week (or two or three) to process the loan. I'm not sure the details cuz I haven't gone through the process in a long time, but my mom has worked in banking and lending for 30 years, so I take her word for it. It's not a problem and you will definitely get better rates than going through the dealer. I just wanted as few steps as possible as quickly as possible. And since I had such good credit, the difference in monthly payment was less than $30. Also, 1.74% is amazing.

You can compare what your payments would be yourself using a loan calculator as well: http://www.bankrate.com/calculators/...alculator.aspx

You can plug in different values for down payment, rate, length of loan, etc. See where it puts you for monthly payment and see if that fits in your budget.
