Hi all,
I'm new to the car community and I'm looking to find relatively cheap options to get more horsepower and torque for my FRS. Additional noise would be appreciated as well but is not my primary focus. What would you guys recommend? It is worth noting as well that I still have a 1 year end to end warranty and 3 years powertrain that I would like to not void. Thank you! |

I hate to say this but any mod that will amount in a power increase like I think you mean will more than likely void some part of your warranty. Such as headers and a tune which would probably be the best bang for buck to get increased power while maintaining a budget.

Nope, headers will void your warranty! My car is under warranty as well. I just take my aftermarket parts off and put the factory parts on when i go to the dealer for service. Hope this helps!

Anything you do will only void the warranty if it is the cause of the failure.
For an automatic I recommend getting a 4.8 final drive. It will make your car feel more alive. This is of course at the cost of higher rpm cruising and slight decrease in gas mileage.

Now to the inquiry at hand. What is your budget? Both short and long term? Short term and long term goals? Expectations? Current and future use? DD, spirited driving, canyons, autox, track, drag, hwy pulls? Also as mentioned, no modification voids a warranty. They have to prove the modification directly led to the issue or failure. And the majority of mods can be completely reversed if warranty work was goin to be needed. But if modded properly your mods hopefully won’t be the cause of any issue or none should occur. |
