Frozen window solution?

Ok....i'm fairly certain that this is going to get all to hell, BUT, has anyone ever tried using a battery powered heater like this:

I know that anything battery powered probably wouldn't put out a lot of heat, but I don't think a lot of heat is needed to prevent frost from forming on the windows and jamming them in the morning??

why don't you lay a towel across the window instead?

Oh, I wasn't really thinking about the windshield.... more for preventing the door windows from jamming from icing overnight.....

Right, but couldn't you do something similiar? Maybe a car cover or a blanket draped across the top of the car? I don't have to experience snow/ice like those up north so these are simply uneducated ideas.

I've thought about that before, but a small blanket/towel would get blown away and I don't want to deal with a large car cover every morning.....

Biggest problem is water getting in the door while you're warmed up and then parking = FROZEN
No blanket is going to protect from that.

Need some way to identify the freeze points exactly, and address those points accordingly. Problem with that is, this assembly seems particularly susceptible to abnormal water retention (that is, what I believe to be longer or more than normal)
I noticed this the first time I washed the car. Even 24 hours after washing, rolling the window down, then back up, the window picks up water again.

I noticed that too. I see it even with just the window movement from opening the door, so I assumed that it has to do with the fuzzy seal at the base of the window retaining moisture and somehow causing the window to freeze to it (yes, I know that doesn't really make sense, but a lot of the problems with this car don't make sense!)

If (and that's a massive if) the above is true, then I figure that a heater would be enough to either a) prevent the freezing, or b) keep it melty enough that any freezing doesn't overcome the jam detection.

Yeah, we need a solution. I am tired of resetting the windows every fracking day.

The heater doesn't seem like a practical solution. If anything I would be worried about damage or a fire hazard.
In order to avoid freezing you'd need to heat the cabin up significantly for it to warm the air pocket in the door.

I hate to even consider chemicals as the implications are not only messy but could cause other unwanted side effects.

Serious question... why not live with it???

I have YET to get a car that the windows don't get frozen shut on cold morning, they eventually warm up during the day/driving.

Mines are frozen almost every morning...and it doesn't affect anything else.
