brake recall?
i took my car today to the toyota in oxnard and they found out that one of the calipers in the rear was indeed leaking and that there was a malfunctioning switch or wire that sends a signal to the rear brakes and tells them when to do there job. Has anyone had this issue as well, please let me know and weather I should take any legal because the brakes failed.

what kind of damage? did this cause you to have an accident or cause brake fluid to leak onto the paint?

Still need pics to make a recommendation.
Leaking brake fluid would probably mean rear brakes work less than needed, which could help explain front damage. Rear quarter panel damage = you spun. I doubt there is a reasonable story where rear brake leak = higher rear brake pressure and a lock-up. Unless your brakes locked up somehow before starting the car but you decided to drive anyway. |

Fully functional the rear breaks don't do muh work anyways. I've had glazed rear brakes which really barely function and that's never resulted in anything close to an accident.
What exactly happened and what proof do you ave that the condition existed PRIOR to the wreck.

He's trying to build a case against Toyota but knows it won't fly if no one else has the problem.
If I'm wrong then I apologize to the OP

Sounds like someone driving outside of their skill level, but... Doesn't sound like non functional rear brakes would cause that type of accident, and 25mph around a 90 degree turn with no brakes is easily handled... so his accident story didn't add up either. He's young and, IMO, trying to blame someone else for his mistake, but you never know...
