Toyota Price Increase?

Hi All.
When I was taking my test drive back at the beginning of August the dealer mentioned that there was talk of a price rise coming but if I put my deposit down I would get it for the current price.
Not that it influenced my purchasing decision but I'm wondering if this price increase has occurred or is there any truth to it's existence. Any idea?

Price rise is inevitable, but doubt it would be substantial and might come with extra kit

From what I heard when I picked up my car back in June, apparently there was something miscalculated with the original driveaway price on the GTS models.. the difference was only $500 more which was then updated for future orders. Apart from that I haven't heard anything else..

I'm doubting any other price rise will happen, it just wouldn't make sense..

I ordered a GTS this week and the price is guaranteed even if they go up in the meantime. I reckoned I can't go wrong - it will probably be 18 months before I get it, the equipment level and price will probably increase and I get it at todays money for the sake of laying out $1000 deposit (and it is refundable if I decide not to go ahead nearer the time).

It means I get the best of both worlds cos I originally wanted a GTS but didn't want to wait so I ordered a GT instead, which I will get by the end of the year. Once the GTS arrives I can trade the GT or sell it for close to what I paid. :happy0180:

Ballsy move there. :happy0180: Hope it all works out well for you and you don't lose much.
I also ordered for the same reasons as you. Seemed like a no risk proposition. They said if the car isn't delivered within 3 months it is a full refund of the deposit. Since I knew there was no way of the GTS being delivered within 3 months I couldn't lose. (well except for TMCA or the dealer being able to invest my $1000 in their bank account, lol)

Thanks Man. My only dilemma now is whether to look at a Visconti tune for the GT or wait until I get my hands on the GTS. I suppose I could do both tho..............

Spare wheel deletion is effectively a price rise.

I'm not whinging about it, just stating a fact.

May be ... but I reckon I give them 1000 for 18 months - working on 4%costs me about $60 in lost interest. Price of car goes up by 4% over next 18 months ... increases by about $2,400. Sounds good to me!

I certainly don't want it to happen, but TMCA can change the price at any time and the dealer can pass the extra cost on (which is what you signed up for if you read your contract).

Fingers crossed ...
