When test drives go bad!

Quote from another forum:

"They went down a bank up the port hills on a test drive, sales person was with them at the time, said they tried to take a corner and took it to wide, hit some road grit and lost it, hit a couple of trees on the way down, lucky to be alive"

This was in Christchurch, NZ on this road http://binged.it/Ugf2fs - thanks Jeremy for the link

The passenger compartment looks to have held it's shape nicely so does this mean that the 86 get's a five star NZ safety rating at tumbling down hills?

This is prolly what, one of maybe 20 cars that NZ will see?

This happened with a buddy of mine test driving an 04 STi. He was drving like an idiot while his friend was moving the DCCD from front to back constantly. They hit a patch of gravel around a corner two fast, lost it and proceeded to roll the car.

People just don't understand that the easiest speeds to roll a car are 25-35mph.

So who pays if the person doing the test drive causes the accident?

The car didn't roll that way, it rolled as it went over the edge. Google Summit Road Christchurch, and you'll see what I mean.

Looks like a great road! Looks like that area is full of great roads.

Too bad for that car, though. Glad everyone was alright.
