"They went down a bank up the port hills on a test drive, sales person was with them at the time, said they tried to take a corner and took it to wide, hit some road grit and lost it, hit a couple of trees on the way down, lucky to be alive" This was in Christchurch, NZ on this road http://binged.it/Ugf2fs - thanks Jeremy for the link And the pictures: |
bad luck
RIP 86 |
The passenger compartment looks to have held it's shape nicely so does this mean that the 86 get's a five star NZ safety rating at tumbling down hills?
Wow, I think that's the worst one yet.. destroyed.
This is prolly what, one of maybe 20 cars that NZ will see?
This happened with a buddy of mine test driving an 04 STi. He was drving like an idiot while his friend was moving the DCCD from front to back constantly. They hit a patch of gravel around a corner two fast, lost it and proceeded to roll the car. People just don't understand that the easiest speeds to roll a car are 25-35mph. |
Very glad they are safe... What does Toyota do after with these vehicles??
So who pays if the person doing the test drive causes the accident?
I got told that insurance takes care of it.
I had to sign a waver when I test drove that I had to pay the excess if there was an accident.
Wow that held its shape VERY nicely. Very strong by the looks of it (I'm not being sarcastic here)
Was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm glad everyone is ok Lol at the 1st photo, looks like a ute :p |
