How do the tips connect on the STi rear muffler for a 1st Gen?

I want a tiny bit more sound, but don't want to go aftermarket. From what I hear (lol) the STi rear muffler section would meet my needs. Unfortunately, I do not like the large tips. I was was wondering if they maybe bolt on and could be swapped out for stock and/or smaller ones?

Does anyone have pics of how the tips attach on the STI muffler?
