Radiator for automatic transmission

So I been looking and I see for the most part a lot of sites and people say a manual aftermarket radiator is not compatible for the auto? Is there an aftermarket radiator made for the AT? Something to do with the transmission cooler? Any info is appreciated thanks!

I'm not 100% familuar with the twins in regards to their AT fluid cooling systems, but in my 2004 WRX automatic, the transmission fluid is piped through the radiator to cool the fluid.

All performance aftermarket radiators that are typically aluminum and beefier do not allow for this. There are aftermarket companies that make replacements like Koyo, but they're no better than OEM.

Besides, unless you're doing hardcore track days and turboed, you probably aren't touching the capabilities of a stock radiator anyways. Thermostats keep lower temps, not radiators... unless your current radiator is completely maxed out (very unlikely).

I have an AT, and have replaced my radiator with the Jackson Racing Combo Radiator/Oil Cooler. The coolant feed for the AT cooler is fed through coolant piping on the motor, so the actual radiator is the same on MT/AT from my experience.
