Helmet Outer Dimensions

Last season was my first with the car and I skated by on borrowed helmets and a schuberth motorcycle helmet where it was allowed. This year part of my spring shopping is going to be a proper snell helmet. I know it's bad timing with SA2020 coming up, but I figure 5 years is still plenty.

I've primarily been looking at the Simpson Voyager 2 and OMP OS70 and I was wondering if anyone could offer first hand input on these. I don't have anywhere I can easily try on helmets nearby and it's surprisingly hard to find reviews or conversation about them.

The main thing I'm curious about between these two is whether there is much difference on the height of the helmet past the top of the head. Is this something that varies between helmets or is that dimension part of the SA2015 standard? I'm leaning toward the Simpson a bit, but pictures make it seem like it mght be taller.

When using other helmets I had to recline my seat further than I prefer for head clearance. I have a feeling that this is just how things are going to be unless I modify the seat, but if there is a very low profile helmet in this price range I'm interested to know.

Thank you in advance!

The Simpson Voyager is a great helmet. Comfortable, large eye port, great visibility, great for glasses.
