Front tires rub at the front sway bar at full lock and rear tires rub a touch at the top of the fender inner lip. Used everything SPL makes and Racer X rear upper control arms to get the wheels where they needed to be.

Took it out for a ten minute back roads drive after a few days of driving to make sure everything was dialed. My buddy was in his new 911 gt3...I was stuck to his bumper through all the turns...until the straights....where he would just walk away. But in the turns I caught up and ate him up. This thing is dialed!

Haha no. I put rubber cooler line hose around the shock resivoir tubes to protect the tubes and the zip ties are there to hold the rubber in place. Still trying to figure out the perfect routing of the tubes.

I was really excited to see your post, because you and I are running a lot of the same modifications. Like you, I have the entire SPL Parts catalog installed on my car, but instead of the Racer X Fabrication rear upper control arms that you're running I have spherical press-in bearings for the OEM upper control arms. It also looks like you're running Whiteline anti-roll bar endlinks, while mine are SPL Parts endlinks. I have MCS 1WNR one-way adjustables, while you have either 2W two-way or 3W three-way adjustables with remote reservoirs - which ones are they? My car is very, very well set up, but I would like to be able to adjust compression separately from rebound, so much so that I'm thinking of sending my dampers to MCS over the winter for the conversion. You're also on Bridgestone RE-71Rs, while I'm on Maxxis RC-1s.

I've got a few questions for you:

• Which model MCS dampers do you have?
• What spring rate are you running front and rear (mine are 8K square)?
• Are you running Hyperco or Swift springs and with or without tenders (mine are Swifts with tenders in the rear)?
• Are you running the factory Torsen LSD (mine is an OS Giken unit with 4.56:1 ring and pinion)?

Either way, I give you props - it's a super-cool setup, man!

Yeah buddy! Thanks! So I have the MCS RR2’s (double adjustable with reservoirs) 600lb square hyperco springs without helper springs. I’d like to run helpers but the wheels won’t clear the spring perches...hasn’t been an issue anyway. I ran my last car with out helpers and it also wasn’t an issue unless I fully unloaded the suspension.

I sold the stock 4.30. I’m running a Full Blown Motorsports 8.8 with a Detroit true trac...basically a super heavy duty Torsen...3.55 gear ratio.

Wow...600lb springs are pretty serious - mine are 450lb and my car is incredibly responsive, so I can’t imagine what yours is like. Your roads in San Jose are undoubtedly much better than mine in Chicago, and I’m actually thinking about switching to 400lb Hyperco units over the winter because of them. My entire setup was dynoed by Lex Carson at MCS and then sent to Vorshlag Motorsports for springs, tenders, camber plates, rear shock mounts, and assembly. My experience with both of those companies was absolutely top-notch. Did Vorshlag Motorsports spec out your MCS setup, too, and are you running their camber plates and rear shock mounts?

I’m running RAYS Gramlights 57Xtreme 18" x 8.5" +42 wheels with Maxxis RC-1 235/40ZR18 tires - they’re a lot smaller than your monsters, but I still have a ton of mechanical grip. I love daily driving on R-Comps, and would have a tough time dropping back down to a ‘regular’ tire at this point. My wheels are the ‘Face-2’ variant and were developed specifically for the 86, so they have a deep concave look for their relatively narrow width and a perfect offset - my only complaint is that they’re a little bit heavier than I’d like.

With a differential like the Full Blown Motorsports unit, you have to be planning on going forced induction or, dare I suggest, an engine swap - which is it? I’m definitely going to be watching everything you do moving forward - good luck with your killer build and keep us all posted on future developments!

Yes, mine are from vorshlag as well, got the plates...pretty much the works. I was going to go heavier 700/800 Jason recommended 600/600 for this car considering my intentions.

I just picked up a set of Gramlights 57c6 18x9.5 +40 too...haven’t quite figured out what I’m going to do with them though. My wife said she want she wanted to drift and these popped up for sale locally so I grabbed them. After we shred the tires maybe something more serious than the RE71R’s for autocross unless we really love drifting haha



LS Swap has been the plan since day one. Already have the motor. 418 LSX built by Texas Speed. Should make betwee 600-700hp.
They even made me a custom cam haha!

That’s an impressive list! ...and I’m pretty impressed with these cars as great starting point to do anything you want relatively easily and successfully.

For sure we’ll compare notes. Once I start running his car around I’m sure I’ll have “set up” questions for you. What do you do with yours anyway? Track? autocross? Backroads? All of the above?

is this the MCS thread now? Also had vorshlag do a lot of my suspension TT1 450 front and rear with tenders on the rear.

I have it set up for STX so I can't do as much crazy stuff you guys.

Nice! What about maintenance on the shocks? I ran Motons on my last car. I had to re-charge the nitrogen every year...it would drop. I kept them at 175psi on that car...probably should find out what these start at.
