The Scion FR-S – A Review, Owner’s Impressions, and Opinions
Hey guys –
The attached is my review, so far, of my new Scion FR-S (Toyota GT86). I tried to call ‘em as I seen ‘em! Settle in with a drink and a snack – it’s long. Enjoy, and let me know what you think. Cheers! Dave JULY 21st EDIT -- I updated the attached document to reflect more ownership experience with the car. Enjoy! Last edited by avusblue; 07-21-2012 at 06:10 PM. |

Nicely done! You clearly put time and effort into this review and I enjoyed reading your thoughts and impressions of the car. I am in Maple Grove and work in Minneapolis, so perhaps I might see you driving one day.
Enjoy! |

I agree with you about the "fangs." That's probably the only design feature I think is a bit too aggressive.

This is my first post, but I just had to comment ... what a thorough and well-written review! I particularly liked your comparisons to the S2000 and Miata, two cars I know well, and your comments on interior quality and detailing. Your final point on status image resonates perfectly with me. Thank you!
As you might infer from my username, I am leaning towards the BRZ ... due to its HID headlights and navigation system, though I prefer the front end of the FR-S. Have plenty of time to decide, as I return to the US in 2013 after a multi-year work assignment in the UK. P.S. I suggest moving this thread to Member's Car Journals, so that the original post gets the broader attention it deserves. Dave (avusblue), I hope that you add to your review as you spend more time with the car. Last edited by Zenith; 06-05-2012 at 01:36 PM. |

"If you want more power, just add more revs, and you’ll be fine."

Bang on about the HVAC controls, at least with me. Always prefer the direct simple adjustments of manual systems over electronic climate control ones.

Kids in car seats still and just wouldn't work in an FR-S especially in winter. |
