Warning Lights, Windows, AC after dead battery

Left my '13 BRZ for 6 days while on a trip, came back and it wouldn't start. AAA came out and checked the battery and said it was completely dead. They ran other diagnostics and said everything else was fine. Replaced the battery and the car will turn on and run now, but the dashboard is lit up with all of the warning lights and the windows/AC/stereo won't work. Basically all the same issues described here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117010

Any ideas?

You didn't mention the key factor. Does the power steering work?

If no, did AAA jump start the car with the dead battery still installed?

I did forget to mention that, power steering does not work either. I had a friend with a jump starter jump it before I called AAA. The car was turned on, but shut off as soon as the jump pack disconnected.

I've experienced this with my previous car. Went through 3 alternators, each dying immediately after I drained the battery. It's not yet confirmed because I haven't killed this one and no one else on the forum has followed up with their story.

The power steering only runs when the alternator is charging properly. I'll guess that your alternator killed itself trying to charge the drained battery but without hands-on, that's all it is, a guess.

I ran my battery down to where it wouldn't start the car and I had to roll start it. I had no problems at all with any of the electrical systems.

Well, I'd suggest you disconnect the battery again ...... let the ECU reset and hook the battery back up.

Then, with your trusty volt meter, check the battery voltage and alternator output.

Also, you might check the fuses that are associated with the electrical things that don't work.

Come back.

To be a good OP, the problem was one of the inline fuses connected to the battery terminal. The first person to jump the battery reversed the terminals and tripped that fuse. There are two fuses in the terminal, one controls the starter and the other controls the power steering, windows, and throws a bunch of error codes. The starter fuse hadn't tripped which is why the car was able to start and run, but the other fuse had tripped. That was what was causing all the issues. There was a second fuse that tripped that controlled the radio and that one needed to be replaced as well. All in all it cost me $250 at the dealership.
