If i made a gap between the muffler and the pipe would it cause any issues?

I had this gap on many of my old 70s and 80s junkers. Mind you they did it on their own due to rot.
Contrary to what was said in that other thread leaving a gap does not give the same noise as a proper muffler delete. A proper pipe still makes the sound come out behind the car. Having that noise under the car just creates a weird buzzing as it bounces around through the chassis. No "racecar" noise there and it just sounds to be exactly what it is, broken. I can't even imagine what it would be like inside the car.

The rest of the very valid reasons not to do this are already covered in the other thread.
