New beeping sound when I turn engine on or off
Is anyone familiar with this? After a drive, I turn off the engine and it beeps and a yellow key/car flashes a few times?
Asking because I've never had this happen when I got the car |

Nope, run your nail (or a plastic knife) around the seem and pry it open. Take the battery to your favourite jewellers or if you can get the battery size identifier you could get one cheaper online.

no need to ruin your nails. simply remove the key blade, insert it into the horizontal slot then twist the keyfob housing apart. |

Changing the battery without prying your nail up is the best feature.OP do you by any chance have the door open when you turn it off? Mine beeps if I shut it off with the door already open.

Yup, take out the key from the fob, then you will see a small rectangular indent. The head of the key fits into this. Push in and twist until the fob opens. You will see the battery beneath a cover. Flip the fob over and the circuit board should easily fall out, but you may need to pull because there might be glue or tape holding it in. You won't damage it.
Then you just need to push the small plastic tabs holding the battery - this can be a $#%#$%$# Can't remember what type of battery you need. It is a little larger than you typical watch battery. I think it is Battery CR2016 *PS I didn't change my battery for more than a month before replacing it, so you might be okay for a little while. I'll also note that both fobs died at the same time, even though the one never got used. So I had to replace them both at the same time. |
