245/45R18 on 18x8
General question I am hoping to get some help from forum members with.
There's a local sale on FXT wheels & tires (245/45R18, 18x8, +48) that I am interested in, but have some concern for the tire fitment. I've been able to confirm from the sticky in this forum that the wheels will fit, but can't find anything for the tires since most people run 245/40R18. Can anyone chime in to let me know if this setup will fit? Thanks |

That tire size is HUGE, nearly 2" taller than stock.

Agreed. Stock tire outside diameter is 24.6", 245/45-18s are 26.6". A better tire size would be 245/35-18, with a diameter of 24.7".

I completely understand the tire is pretty big for the FR-S, mainly I'm curious to know if they'll fit so I don't have to junk $500 worth of tires. Anyone actually running this on the FR-S? I'm pretty sure the rear will clear, but what about the front?

Either don't buy them or assume the tires are worthless to you.

18x8 +48? That must come awful close to the spring perch...plus, like others have said 245/45 is way too big.
But, maybe buy the correct tires and sell the ones that you get in the deal? Or just wait until you find a proper wheel+tire combo for sale. |
