OFT cable

After i use my OFT and disconnect it the cable has a burning smell to it (side that connects to the car). Anyone else have this issue? It only happens when using the OFT cable. I have a bluetooth adapter that I connect and disconnect all the time to monitor my car with the torque app and it never has the smell.
