New exhaust, new inspiration

I just got home from installing my newly used nameless performance axleback 2.5 4” with my dad and it was the best feeling to turn on the car and hear it’s amazing new rumble, I was smiling the whole way home! I’d like to tell you guys a little story about this car and my new found passion, I’ll add some backstory info. I’m a 20-year-old college girl, (almost 21) when I started dating a guy who owned a ‘13 ford mustang (v6 automatic..). I had always had an admiration for cars (I thought Camaros were hot) but while dating him I learned how fun and awesome they could be. He would help me with some of the mods he would do and would tell me how much faster they made on his 0-60 time, I loved it! I took him to the Seattle car show in October last year because I thought he would like it and there I fell in love with the Subaru BRZ, a hyper blue one in fact. The lines in the body made it look exotic to me, and I loved how small it was. The car I was driving at the time was a 1998 Ford Taurus and that thing was way to long for my taste. A month later I reviewed all my finances and put a down payment on a used manual 2014 WRB BRZ with 27,000 miles. I was in love! I was 19 at the time of my purchase.

I learned to drive stick on my own; at first it felt like it was impossible but the more I tried, the better I got. It felt so rewarding teaching myself, driving standard is the best way to drive, and it makes every trip in the car a fun one. The boyfriend and his best friend thought my car was cool, but of course, it was considered lame to them because it was slow. Anyways, the point that I’m getting to is that this boy I was in love with for over a year, who inspired me to love cars, just recently broke it off with me unexpectedly right after buying my first exhaust axleback that he was going to help me install. I was devastated; I had no idea what I was going to do now without any help with the car, without any support. The last week has been really hard but I knew what I wanted and convinced my Dad to partake in helping me install it. It was super easy with both of us helping and the happiest I’ve felt since the break up. I couldn’t stop smiling when I turned it on for the first time. Now I know I can still do everything I’ve ever wanted to do with my car on my own because it is my passion as well and it’s the best feeling! I'm pretty sure I’m addicted to modding my car now, so there goes my money! Anyways, just wanted to share my story about this car and my experiences getting here, I love this car to death, it gets me excited every morning when I get to drive it. I've tried to learn everything about it with help of this forum. I seriously think I have a problem when I have to take pictures of it every time I park. I’ve been a long time lurker with this forum since I got the car back in November; I’m on here almost everyday. So thank you for listening and being such a welcoming community! LET THE MODS BEGIN!

Oh, and screw mustangs.

Hey Stella! Sorry to hear about your breakup :/ I know how you feel. I'm 21 now, was 20 and in college at the time just like you. Girlfriend of almost 3 years broke up with me. I was devastated too. I found strength in working on my car, (I didn't have my BRZ at the time, was working on my other car.) So I know how you felt. Really distracts the mind doesn't it? Too bad that it costs so much just to make yourself feel better :P Anyways, I wish you luck on your situation and good luck on all your future mods!

PS: feel free to message me if you ever need someone to talk to, breakups are tough!

For next mods I recommend a drop in air filter and noise generator delete!

How do you like the Namless? I was thinking about the Catback since Axelback exhausts tend to have a weird sound with UEL headers.

First, lol

Thanks @Wyatt2617 for the story, it really does help knowing that you're not the only one that has gone through something like this, and that cars helped you too Today I just bought some cosmetic mods! Clear side markers, LED strips for cabin under glow, iJDMTOY reverse backup light and a rear diffuser I'm excited to learn how to wire tap, it'll open up a lot of different opportunities!

And I'm glad you mentioned the air filter! I was looking into one, I searched through some pages here and read to see if people thought they were really worth the money, does it actually help with getting better air flow? Any performance gains?

And yes I love the Nameless; I bought it from a guy on here through the northwest page. I think the sound is amazing; it's not too loud and to me sounds perfect with the UEL headers. Maybe later I'll look into getting a new midepip and headers to go with it!

Nice! I've been looking for a new Catback to go with my new UEL headers because i wanted to get rid of some drone. Any chance for a sound video? I really want to hear them lol.

IMO, any air filter is fine. the air box for this car can be considered as a "cold air intake" since it has a funnel that grabs air from the bumper. I personally use a Perrin air filter, but whatever fits your budget is fine. a full intake system is overrated IMO

I have a video of my MXP SP exhaust, but I recently just installed a front pipe so it will be slightly different. I am working on a current exhaust video, but here it is with Gruppe-S UEL headers + overpipe, OEM front pipe, and MXP SP catback exhaust. you can skip the first minute if you don't want to hear the cold start idle to normal idle.
