Valve Stem Gasket

So I'm having some issues with this little rubber gaskets ripping around the valve stem causing slow leeks (mutable times, mutable wheels)

Anyway, I have been searching with no prevail for a place a can purchase JUST the rubber gaskets.. Thought i would see if anyone knew a place.

~Also, if anyone had any ideas on solving this problem. I'm going to try some fine sandpaper around the holes in the barrels a little, possibly they were cut in haste and have sharp edges/fragment? (plastic valves hold air without leak)

Is that an actual pic of what you are using? Why not use something like this? a four pack is under $8. I would grease the gasket to avoid tearing it. (because you are having a problem with that.) Also it should "pop" in easier.

Edit: And by grease, I mean silicone O-Ring lube. something like this. http://www.servapure.com/Lube-111-O-...FRaXfgodSpsD-A

Or spit on it first.

Yes i'm using an angled valve stem, was trying to avoid purchasing new stems as mine are fine its just the rubber that is failing.

just over Hand tight, not torquing hard

Originally i had valve stems with rigs for inserting the TPS's and had thought the extra weight was causing excessive movement causing the gaskets to rip but i have sense switched to the pictured valve stem and the issue continued.

OK, I got it. So, are you installing the tires too? I am only asking because most tire shops would install the valve stems for you, and would take responsibility for tearing the gasket. And if they did, would replace them for you at no cost.

I'm not installing the tires, i really don't even think that the tire shop did anything that would cause the gaskets to rip, the slow leak only shows up days/week after rolling around on the tires. (also they are good guys and i wouldn't want to make them assume responsibility)

If nothing else ill just suck it up and purchase all new valve stems to cannibalize there gaskets.

I'm just worried they will rip again, would really love to order like x8-12 gaskets so i can trouble shoot.

Cool! I have been going to the same tire shop for 20 years. I know all the guys there. I am even friends with a few of them. ANY wheel problem I have, I have them help me fix. They would give me the gaskets or valve stems. They have boxes of them.

I would ask your tire shop for help since you need a few valve stems/gaskets. They either will give you the parts, or charge you a couple dollars. Can't hurt to ask..
