So i'm considering looking for a new(2010+) bike and here are my criteria:
-Must be less then $15,000
-Insurance must be less then $1,000/year(25 year old, no points, single)
-Must have character
-Must be a sportbike/naked
-Must be able to be drag raced(no dry clutches)
The bike list i've put together so far:
-2013 Triumph Daytona 675R(although i'm not a fan of the new headlight)
-2008+ Triumph Speed Triple
-Ducati 848
-Ducati 848 streetfighter

Check out the Kawasaki Z1000. The current model (2010+) Sits in a similar category to the speed triple and the 848 streetfighter. Less expensive, leaving more money for mods!
