As I understand it, you have to cut the white plastic enclosure in order to access the filter, so there is no way to remove/replace that filter without rendering the part useless.

I don't have great pictures, but this one helps a bit.



That is the bottom part of the enclosure with the Fuel Pump sticking out and the sock filter. That enclosure wrapped around the FP is what holds the filter inside. There is no way to access the filter without cutting this plastic open.
