Getting back to the states and seeing this
Went through a few threads and found some good nuggets.

From what he shared with me, the only thing that is changed by the seal failure update is the transient ignition retard table and activation rpm. At least that is all that has been found so far.

Transient Retard is retarding ignition timing during quick throttle lift (like fast shifting). Stock, TR is not enabled over 5,000 rpm and even if it were the table is zeroed out above 4000 RPM. The new software just moves the deactivation point up to 10,000 RPM and fills in table values above 5600 rpm.

I would also like to thank @DrSUTRA for posting up the pics and documentation about the update.

I Think this update needs to be pushed to ALL cars. The simple fact is, with the transient retard setup like it is from the factory, there is the potential for ALL cars to have this problem at one time or another. All it takes is a bad tank of gas. Now, how many det events does it take to burn out the seal... that is another question.

Software Update and bulletin with describes the issue. It appears Toyota acknowledges there is an issue.

This makes a lot of sense to me

There are other conditions to be sure but the fix is to change ECU parameters to eliminate the potential conditions which cause this knocking.
ITS KNOCK CAUSED BY YOUR TUNER that CAUSED your injector seal to fail. PERIOD

Few youtubes in the middle of that page of the sound that may be caused by the O-ring failing

I did ask @Jeff@Perrin and @Chris@Perrin about it. They just sent me a new tune for the Vortech system which they say should prevent the issue. I may listen for a few days before flashing to see if I have it. I haven't heard anything unusual so I don't think I have it fortunately.
