Import tuner did dyno tests on a 1999 Si (1.6L B16) and the short version is thit:

I/H/E, OEM cat: 147 hp
I/H/E, Magnaflow Ceramic Cat: 150 hp
I/H/E, Magnaflow Metallic Cat: 151 hp
I/H/E, Test Pipe : 152 hp.

So, MAYBE, you are making 2hp at the very most. It's not worth spewing raw emissions into the atmosphere for an unnoticeable gain.
i can attest to the fact it is more than a 2hp gain for everything i have done to the exhaust system. does it stop anything from getting filtered? no it doesnt and i understand that. now take in consideration my daily driver outside of my work is my wifes car which i drive way more than my FR-S so outside of work my FR-S doesnt see much street time other than traveling to and from the track or few other places. if there is a concern for polution so be it i understand your argument, but this is a thread to let people hear the sound of the exhaust not to get into arguments and pissing contests over other facts that can be talked about on other threads.
