True on the SLR, not true on the LFA, looked it up and it's got one of these:

And it's sequential which is pretty rare for a street legal roadcar so that's cool.
I'm not saying you can't get a high performance vehicle with an automatic, it's the transmission of choice for drag racing because you can play with when the torque converter engages for sweet launches.
I'm saying when you hear about how the automated transmissions in the new high end cars are so great they are very little like the automatic in the FRS/BRZ, which again has more in common with an Altima than a GTR.
I'm sure it's a spectacular transmission, but saying "it's just like the new Porsche GT3!" is erroneous at best.
