I've had mine installed since Wendesday and been driving it these past few days.

Some reasons I purchased:

1. OEM
2. Straight tube has less impedance than a 90 degree elbow (which is what most other aftermarket CAIs have).
3. Air filter cuts diagonally across airbox to maximize its size in the given space for greater intake air volume.
4. Easier to change/clean the filter compared to most aftermarket CAIs.
5. Cold air from bumper enters stock Venturi tube snorkel ensuring constant pressure for predictable MAFS readings (rather than sporadic w/o snorkel).
6. Accordion tube allows for engine to rock under hard cornering without dislodging couplings on the airbox which is anchored to the chassis. Silicone couplings on aftermarket intakes with rigid tubes can gradually become undone.

Initial impressions/comparos:

1. Response: When I first installed my Takeda (with ECU reset by disconnecting battery for 15+ minutes), it felt/sounded like stock below 5.5k rpm and took several hundred miles for the ECU to adjust and improve throughout the rev range its response and loudness. When I sold my Takeda, I reverted to stock (reset ECU again) and response felt lethargic and quiet even with my red TRD sound changer. Installed my TRD intake (reset ECU) and it was instantly louder than stock but not as loud as Takeda. Also, it pulled as hard if not harder than my Takeda was pulling (AFTER the ECU had adjusted to the Takeda), only the TRD was pulling this hard from a *fresh* ECU reset. I can only imagine how it'll feel in a few hundred miles after the ECU has adjusted or if it needs to at all.
2. Sound: Quieter than my Takeda. And I like that because the Takeda would boom and almost sound louder than it should for how slow I'd be moving. But still louder than stock with my sound changer. I think it's a healthy induction sound; not wheezing like stock and not a ricey booming like some aftermarket intakes. Those who want extravagantly loud may want to look elsewhere. Those who want to better hear a healthy sounding engine, this does it, rightfully fitting the character of the car. But again, it hasn't been several hundred miles so the sound may still change.

Not too concerned about dyno results but I'd be surprised if it performed worse than stock. I also haven't been redlining it, and even if I did, my impressions wouldn't mean much because I haven't spent enough time through redline with my other intakes to form a familiar baseline for any meaningful comparisons. I expect it to be better than Takeda and rival or exceed Perrin given the above theory and my initial impressions.
