The sidewall on the 215/55 will be almost an inch taller (.9 inches) than the stock 215/45/17. You will have less wheel gap and your car will sit off the ground an inch more.
You could try going with a closer-to-stock size tire, but one that's less performance oriented so it has softer sidewalls.
