Agreed. If true, that is very disconcerting. Is "shutting them down" in ECUTek speak akin to limp mode in VAG-COM, when certain measured parameters are exceeded? I've been lurking on countless FI threads and I don't remember this being an issue. Any tuners available to weigh in on this?
