my dealer resealed this plate earlier this week. I picked it up and for a few hours the smell was terrible. I'm guessing more oil spilled out during resealing, or the sealant itself was curing.

Less than a day later, the smells *seems* to be gone. there is still some smell at high rpms, but it is nothing compared to the burning smell there was before.

I'm not 100% convinced its solved (yet), but almost there.

I agree in part with your point of view but me personally, and I know several people in the forum agree, would not let anyone besides us work on the car much less a dealer unless its a catastrophic failure. Also, I am sure people who have already installed a TC, SC kit, will be even less willing to allow anyone to work on the engine or leave the car under the dealer watch given past well documented history of A-holes beating on owners cars.
