The adayo is the only one that has that issue. All the other units I tested can play FM while doing anything.
I'm not sure what you're looking from a tablet that you can't get on one of these units. You will find a lot of problems with using a tablet install. Power on/off? Volume changing without having to fuddle through apps and home screens? quickly switching apps? Sound quality? GPS reception? FM?
I'm with you, I did a lot of research with installing a Nexus 7 in my dash before I went the dedicated head unit route. It's just too much of a hassle to actually use in the car for a head unit. Unless you're just gonna mount it on the windshield and use it in addition to the head unit, but I hate having crap all over my dash and wires dangling everywhere.
