Some people also like to warm up their vehicles and during the cold winter it takes a lot longer to warm her up.
Also the "winter blend" they call it, is suppose to be lower octane I think...to aid the car's starting performance in the winter.
I blame winter altogether.

Yeah, when I first got my car, I was getting about 30-32mpg during the first few weeks. When they switched to the winter blend, I've dropped down to 27-28mpg.
