Because this symptom happens at low RPMS (where the synchros are very effective, overly so) and no at high rpms it leads me to believe your notchiness or "grind" is a feeling or feedback from the multi-cone synchro and not the collar hitting the actual engagement teeth on the gear itself.

This definitely happens to me on 2-3 shift occasionally. I can tell the difference between this and a full on grind. Running OEM fluid.
