Yup, before the TSBs came out I switched to ethanol-free 93 octane and still heard crickets the next day. Then I went to the dealer the next week to get the TSB done and could not reproduce the crickets. The master tech said people come in all the time with their other Subarus making similar noises and it is due to using fuel with some sort of ethanol mix.

Yea I read about the gas issue, I use the same gas every time though, either mobil or BP, premium fuel. I drive my car the same way everytime and it used to almost make the noise regardless of how I drove it as long as it was warmed up and did highway speeds. Now I don't hear it ever, so not sure what's going on? THe only thing I can think of is that the pump or something else needed to be broken in.
