Track times can vary so much they are even less reliable then dyno numbers. There's three tracks within a four hour drive of me. The same car, same driver, same setup and similar weather will yield about .70 second difference from the fastest to the slowest track.
Different drivers, different suspension setups, different tracks and different weather could easily add up to give a full second difference.
Also, Don has been very tight lipped about the setup of his car so even if they did bother to go to the same tack on the same day they still wouldn't know if the comparison was apples to apples or not.
These threads are about making power, and these guys are now making the most.
