Yep. It makes a difference on a truck where there is no weight in back, but on a reasonably balanced car all you're doing is adding momentum to lateral motion. I've driven Miatas, an M Coupe, two Boxsters, and other modern sports cars through Milwaukee winters with Performance Winter tires and nothing else. Heck, my mom drives a MT Miata PRHT with Blizzaks and she's fine.

This thing will be fun in the winter with decent tires. I'm looking forward to it.
