Yes and no, a light 18 with sticky tires will be better than oem on stock tires.

Even the Road and Track wheel and tires comparison highlights this.

I do agree that a comparable 17 will be better for performance. I also noticed Moto-P is running very light 18s and doing well on the track.

For me, I have a light 18 with sticky tires. I kept the new size near oem sizing too. I'll add a review after install and some miles
