E85 doesn't spoil, but it does absorb water. If you are storing e85, you need 2 keep 2 things in mind:
1.) The container you use
2.) The environment
Since it is very sensitive to electricity, soft metals are not good containers to store it in. Also, there are some plastic drums that the fuel will break down. Find 55 gallon drums that are UL guaranteed.
Ethanol will soak up water, so if it is stored in an air-tight container, then technically, it shouldn't ever go bad. However, if you have it sitting in a gas tank, or something else that is exposed to the elements, that would not hold true.
